He had a better plan: Let them burn! Jonah's prejudices had gotten the better of him. However, after a frighteningly close encounter with a huge fish, Jonah agreed to go to the people of Nineveh and, as a result, the whole city was saved.

Do you ever wonder what your disobedience costs others? In the mystery of God's plan, the fate of Jonah and the people of Nineveh are intertwined. When Jonah chose to run from God, lives where put in danger! When he turned back, lives were saved! Don't make the mistake of believing that your life is any less significant than Jonah's or the apostles'.

Do you have a spouse, a son or daughter? Are you a coach, a mentor, a leader in your school? Are you a teacher, a pastor, a lawyer, doctor or nurse? Is there someone who looks up to you or calls you his or her friend? Do you have gifts that could help others; a voice that could speak for others; a heart that can console the suffering of others; or a mind that can educate and enlighten others?

God put you on this earth for a reason, and you can be sure it wasn't to be fish bait! Are you willing to entrust what you have to God to serve his purposes? Remember lives are at stake ~ and not just your own!
