This debate, alongside the age-old evolution vs. creation controversy, raises an interesting question: What is really at stake in the whole debate?

If God is the author of creation, then God has exclusive claim to author-ity over this creation. God has the right to tell us who we are and why we are here, what to do and when to do it. We, as members of his creation have no inalienable right to oppose Him because He has the copyright on us!

When Jesus showed up preaching at the synagogue, he taught with authority ~ that is, like the Author. Nowhere is Jesus ever quoted as saying, "Thus saith the Lord." before making his point. However, he is often quoted saying, "What I say to you is." While the people of Jesus' day believed that spirits and demons were more powerful than human beings they did not believe that they were more powerful than God. When Jesus cast out the demon from the man in the synagogue, the people were amazed that the spirit world was subject to him and not the other way around: "He commands even the unclean spirits and they obey him."

So, what do YOU do when the Lord speaks to you? Surely, you don't want to be outdone by some unclean spirit! If we want to see the people really amazed, let them see what happens when WE obey Him!
