The Gospel from Cycle A is the story of the Woman at the Well. In this story we see a woman longing to be loved, healed, forgiven, and accepted. She desperately thirsts for a peace that has long eluded her. But on this not-so-chance meeting with a stranger named Jesus, she would discover a man who "told me everything I ever did" ~ a man who would love her with a love that would not quit as it had with her first five husbands!

The love of Jesus is everlasting like a water fountain within that never runs dry. The Samaritan woman was thirsty for Jesus long before she even knew he existed! For what do you thirst? Peace, hope, success, acceptance, love? Where do you look to find it: a girlfriend, boyfriend, spouse, friend, parent, or child? Take a lesson from the woman at the well: If your mind is open and your heart is willing, Love will find you!

This brings us to the Gospel from Cycle B where Jesus cleanses the Temple! Did you realize how passionate Jesus is about you? He is not waiting around for you to hear him. He is actively pursuing ~ as a parent would do if she suddenly discovered that her child was no longer at her side in the shopping mall. Imagine the mother's desperate search. Now imagine God searching for you! God is patient, but he also knows that time is running out. If it takes turning over tables to reach you ~ then so be it.
