Too often, we come to church only to reminisce, pray and reflect but not actually to meet, for ourselves, the risen Lord. But he is alive!

Some come to church on Sunday looking for the choir ~ and leave if they are not present! Some come looking for the pastor and slip out if he is on travel. Some even come looking for a man or woman to ask out on a date! So, whom are YOU looking for?

Jesus’ friends went to the tomb to anoint his body. They were looking for a corpse. But when they arrived at the tomb and entered, Jesus was nowhere to be found. They found, instead, a young man sitting inside and clothed in a white robe ~ a man described with striking similarity to those who have just been baptized at the Easter Vigil (Neophytes or newly baptized)! They find an angel, a messenger, a witness. Anyone who comes to church looking for Jesus is inevitably going to meet YOU first: a messenger, a witness.

Even if people are not sure of what or whom they are looking for, one thing is certain: Jesus Christ is risen, and HE is looking for them ~ and WE need to tell them that he is reaaaaally interested in going out on that date! HAPPY EASTER!
