"Blessed are the Peacemakers" is what Christ says. Pre-emptive wars are what we do. "Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness" says the Sermon on the Mount. "Rewarded are they who keep silent for the sake of expediency", is the beatitude we do. Moses says, "Fear the Lord your God and keep his statutes". Instead, we ignore the Lord our God and keep on sinning.

Jesus said, "You are the Salt of the earth and the light of the world." But we settle for being consumers of the earth and risk becoming the blight of the world. We will either keep the commandments of God or we will replace them with commandments of our own. We will heed God's voice or we will claim to be that voice. God says, "I am he Lord, and there is no other". And we say…nothing. For in the end, God will have the last word.
