But it seems that there is always a remote possibility that there is something they may forget to do! Why? Because we are finite beings. We don’t have the privilege of being all-knowing. Who could have predicted that the bride’s limo would get a flat tire on the way to the church or that the van carrying half of the wedding party would break down on the beltway!

Life is this way, too. You can make plans, schedule appointments, and methodically lay out your day or week. Then your child gets sick; your job decides to downsize; the stock market shifts; there’s an accident on the way to work. A deal falls through at the last minute; your flight is cancelled; your ride calls in sick!

We can't change the fact that life will always have its share of curve balls to throw at us. But we can significantly increase the odds of coming out on top if we do what the unnamed couple did long before the wedding reception started.

They invited Jesus to spend the day with them. When you pray before you begin your day, meditate on the scriptures, or go to daily Mass, you are inviting Jesus into your day. Only then can you face your day with the confidence of knowing that nothing will come your way that you and He can't handle TOGETHER!
