Now what? Is this the end? Never! Once you have received God’s forgiveness there is something that you must do: Share it! Why? Because God’s mercy is for getting AND for giving!

Jesus is, of course, the perfect example when it comes to giving away mercy. In the Gospel today Jesus rescues a woman caught in the act of adultery. Hmm, I guess the guy she committed the sin with just couldn't help himself! Isn't this just like us sometimes? We accuse others and excuse ourselves when we are guilty of the exact same thing!

But listen to the words of Jesus: "For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you" (Matthew 7:2). Because our God is merciful, the real question on Judgment Day is not will God condemn me, but will I condemn myself!

The truth is that we are all sinners and fall short of God's standard of holiness (Romans 3:23). Therefore we all need a Savior. Jesus delivers everyone in today's Gospel when he saves not only the woman about to be stoned but the men about to stone her.

You see, had he not convinced the crowd to measure with mercy by dropping their stones, they would have sealed their own fate as they condemned the woman to death. So, has Jesus convinced you to drop your stones yet?
