I see his truth staring me in the face as the Pharisees
refused to do when Jesus opened the eyes of the man born blind? Will
I believe in the God who does the impossible as Martha
said she would before Jesus raised her brother Lazarus from the dead?
If your answer to any of these questions is “Yes,” then
there are practical consequences that will follow.
Palm Sunday marks
the beginning of Holy Week. It begins with shouts of Hosanna and Praise
and abruptly takes a sobering turn with the heart wrenching cry of Christ
from the cross: My God, Why…Why… WHY! Then
there is the all TOO familiar Passion Narrative too familiar because
we easily miss its profound significance because, well, we know how
the story ends! But is this really true? Jesus died to save us all ~
including you. So, how does your part of the
story end?
Do you survive
life’s challenges in the end? Do you persevere in faith and run
the race to the finish? Do you finally get off the fence and make a
firm decision to actually follow Christ with all of the practical repercussions
that come from this decision? Are you still undecided?
Well, you are cordially
invited to join Christ and a number of his disciples at the Last Supper
held here this Holy Thursday at 7:00pm where you will learn more about
the Passover and the call to serve. You may also join us on Friday at
NOON, 1:30pm and 7:00pm for a sample tour of what walking in solidarity
with Christ will entail.
Finally, join us
for the brief funeral services of several of our catechumens that will
be buried with Christ in the waters of baptism only to rise with him
in victory moments later! Maybe by taking this Holy Week journey you
will discover the grace to say “yes” to the one who asks:
Will you follow?
